In the educational setting, all CCPS staff should refrain from using AI in a high-stakes manner. Never input Personally Identifiable Information (PII), such as social security numbers, home addresses, health information, academic information, or other sensitive data into AI systems. If you have questions about using AI for a specific purpose, please contact your supervisor in writing. 

CCPS is committed to promoting AI literacy and preparing students for an AI-driven future. This outlines the guidelines and expectations for the responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools within Catoosa County Public Schools. CCPS students and staff are expected to use technology in a manner consistent with the CCPS Student and Parent Handbook and the CCPS Staff Handbook, including the use of any and all AI tools, and according to the Internet Acceptable Use Policy (IFBG).

Permitted Uses of AI Tools by Teachers
● Teachers should provide students with instruction and guidance on the responsible, ethical use of AI tools, including limitations and the need for critical review of the results of AI tools.
● Teachers must inform and gain approval from their principal or designee before using AI tools with students on academic assignments.
● Teachers must inform and gain approval from the CCPS Technology Department before using AI tools at school with students.
● Teachers should use CCPS approved AI tools with students for various purposes, including, but not limited to: brainstorming and idea generation, gathering information and research about a topic, creating visual tools and presentations, learning and practicing skills and concepts with personalized feedback, translating materials, accessibility support, and learning computer coding and programming skills.
● Teachers should inform parents/guardians before using AI tools with their students, including providing contact information and addressing parent concerns.
