Curriculum Standards

Curriculum standards are the learning goals and specific objectives connected to the content of all subjects which children are taught. Teachers use these to plan units of study and daily lessons.

Georgia Standards of Excellence

Catoosa County Schools utilizes the state adopted standards for as the basis of curriculum. Currently the adopted curriculum is the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). Science and Social Studies are still using the previously adopted Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) and will begin implementing GSE next school year. All of these standards provide clear expectation for instruction, assessment, and student work. Teachers are expected to use CCPS Instructional Frameworks which includes an Opening, Work Session, and Closing for the delivery of instruction. Pacing guides and curriculum units called "frameworks" are some of the resources used to support the implementation of the curriculum standards.
