CCPS Student Technology Competition Website

This site will highlight some of our county technology club happenings and events. The school year of 2017-2018 will see an expansion of tech clubs in each of our schools. A few schools have well established clubs that have already been competing at several events. Welcome to the rookies as we learn together what some of the possibilities are in robotics, coding, and makerspaces.

Tech club members will be practicing three useful skills: critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Most successful tech companies have proven, technology is nothing without a little creativity. This is why tech club can be so inspiring to our students of Catoosa County. Each of the district schools now has a tech club sponsor and an inititative to foster our students toward producing something that contributes to the good of others. It is our plan to encourage students to work toward these competitive events and projects with their end goal having purpose and being something that meets the needs of a problem that they or their community might encounter.

Open Ed Resources

"The U.S. Department of Education announced today the launch of #GoOpen, a campaign to encourage states, school districts and educators to use openly licensed educational materials."

"In order to ensure that all students - no matter their zip code - have access to high-quality learning resources, we are encouraging districts and states to move away from traditional textbooks and toward freely accessible, openly-licensed materials," U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan said. "Districts across the country are transforming learning by using materials that can be constantly updated and adjusted to meet students' needs."
